The United States Men’s National Team continues is strong, improbable run.
The United States has played stellar defense throughout the World Cup thus far, but some may argue, having played things safe, in some ways, have stagnated their offensive output.
When they needed a clutch goal, their biggest star stepped up and delivered.

When he couldn’t go on, the rest of his team got the job done. The USA is into the round of 16 thanks to Christian Pulisic’s goal and stout defense in a 1-0 over Iran. The USA will face the Netherlands on Saturday.
Defenders Tyler Adams, Tim Ream, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Walker Zimmerman made several key interventions along with the defensive mastery from goalkeeper Matt Turner, in the absence of Pulisic.
The action, the emotion, the tension, is what makes the World Cup so special. The United States had to win to advance, while Iran only needed a draw.
The USMNT came up clutch, so onwards they advance.
