Fresh off the heels of Netflix’s successful hit show Wednesday, the newest entry into to the Scream movie franchise stars Jenna Ortega, resuming her role as Tara Carpenter, sister to Sam Carpenter (Melissa Barrera).
The sixth installment in the Scream film series is a direct sequel to Scream (2022), and this upcoming thriller, was written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick and directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.
This story continues with the survivors of the most recent, horrific Ghostface killings, with the sibling duos (sisters Samantha and Tara Carpenter) and (twins Chad and Mindy Meeks), leaving Woodsboro behind and starting a new chapter of their lives in New York city.
The problem is danger followed them out to the east coast, as they are again plagued by a streak of murders by a new Ghostface killer.
This film also stars and features the talents of Courteney Cox, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Hayden Panettiere and Jasmin Savoy Brown. Notable absentee and Scream alum, Neve Campbell, will not be reprising her role as Sidney Prescott due to contractual issues.
Scream VI is scheduled for release in theaters March 10, 2023.
